 Dr. Isaac Porter has been providing quality LASIK, LALEX (SMILE), PRK, LR, and Cataract Surgery for over a decade. Due to advances in laser technology, he has successfully corrected the vision of countless patients with myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism.

Dr. Porter is a fellowship-trained and double board-certified refractive surgeon. His areas of expertise include laser vision correction with LASIK, LALEX (SMILE), PRK, and LR, as well as modern cataract surgery, including laser surgery and advanced technology lens implants that can correct a widerange of vision and astigmatism. He is also the only surgeon in North Carolina performing the newest laser vision correction procedure, LALEX (SMILE).

As the leading name of Porter Ophthalmology, Dr. Porter has participated in clinical research, worked on multiple publications, and presented on ophthalmological topics for over a decade. Before that, his education saw him graduating magna cum laude from Asbury University, then receiving his medical degree as he graduated with high distinction from the University of Kentucky.

From there, Dr. Porter completed both his internship and residency—focused on internal medicine and ophthalmology respectively—at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, taking on the role of Chief resident of in his final year there. He took on a fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago to further narrow focus his studies in refractive surgery.Currently, Dr. Porter is happy to help patients find the right procedure to bestsuit their vision needs, as well as support them on their journey to clearer vision.
